Overnight Planned Respite Services
Elmview provides respite services for families with a family member who is developmentally disabled. The person receiving respite must be client of the State of Washington Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and be at least 18 years of age. Services are family-driven. Families have a primary decision making role in the respite services that will most benefit their family member. The nature and length of respite services are based on the needs and desires of the family and individual served and DDA.
Respite Services are provided in a home in a residential neighborhood in Yakima. The house is close to parks, shopping, and other community activities. Elmview staff have access to vehicles so that people receiving respite services can access the community. Parents, family members, and the individual to be served are encouraged to arrange a visit, take a look at the house, and meet Elmview's staff.
: Families must initiate Overnight Planned Respite Service requests through their DDA Case Manager. The Case Manager will coordinate the referral, arrange connections with Elmview staff, and forward the request to DDA's Central Office for final review and approval.
